We are reading a story titled A Package for Mrs. Jewls. Your child will be coming home with a reading packet once in a while and must bring the packet back the next day to continue working. This week we will be taking our Chapter 1 KSS test on Monday. Then we will begin our unit on Native Americans for the rest of the week. We will begin a new story in our newly arrived reading books after the Eid holiday.
We will begin our unit on Native Americans and will concentrate on the Native Americans of the Northwest and the Native Americans of the Plains, their natural resources, customs, and technology. We will be having a Potlatch Invitation on Thursday, Oct. 31 at which we will invite our neighbors from 5-2 to our room to exchange gifts, followed by a Native American story. Your child will be bringing home a study guide for the upcoming Native American test which will tentatively be on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
